Un week-end parfait à Lanaudière

A perfect gateaway in Lanaudière

By Jessica Gallant - Nomade Magazine

In Quebec, we're fortunate to have many accommodations in different regions that offer unforgettable stays in the heart of nature. For the past few years, I've been trying to discover as many of them as possible, as this type of stay provides me with the most memorable getaways every time. This year, my family and I spent a magical night in a dome in the heart of the magnificent Lanaudière region. Expérience Equinox invited us to enjoy a unique stay in one of its four-season domes, combining undeniable comfort with the warmest hospitality.

A peaceful haven in the heart of nature

Nestled in the heart of a peaceful forest, this place allowed us to relax and reconnect with nature in an exceptional way. Travelling with our 2-month-old baby proved to be a breeze, as our dome offered us the ideal setting for a serene, hassle-free family getaway. We were delighted by the quality of the facilities provided, the variety of board games available, as well as the presence of two fireplaces and a fully equipped kitchen.

My husband and I were particularly charmed by the experience of the private spa, offering a breathtaking view of the sunset. The tranquility emanating from the view of the lake and surrounding nature was simply perfect.

When we woke up, our eyes were opened to tree branches dancing in front of the dome's transparent canvas, a unique sensory experience. We felt as if we were alone in the world in this little corner of earthly paradise. After preparing a delicious breakfast with a comforting cup of coffee, we took one last look at the splendid view of the lake before hitting the road again.

A stopover at Saint Donat

To make the most of our stay in the region, we decided to head to Saint Donat to spend some time at Pioneer Beach. Whether the weather was very hot or a little cooler, this beach offered a pleasant setting to enjoy the fresh air and relax on the sand, the grassy area or the picnic tables. When hunger struck, we opted for the unmissable Broue Malt microbrewery. Not only did we enjoy several dishes from their delicious menu, we also sampled some of their craft beers, a local taste experience not to be missed!

Bring a little Lanaudière home

It's impossible to leave the region without taking home a few local products! In fact, there are a few addresses to keep in mind during a trip to this part of Lanaudière. I'm thinking in particular of Cochon Cent Façons for its variety of succulent pork products, the magnificent boutique La Belle Excuse for its inspiring decor and delicious olive oils, and the distillery and ÉCONOMUSÉE® Grand Dérangement for its history and quality products.

Lanaudière is always a great idea when you want to spend some quality time in the great outdoors, cruising beautiful roads and savoring delicious local food. We loved our weekend in the region and can't wait to go back!
